While many of us know that exercising is important for our physical and mental health, that doesn’t change the fact that half of us aren’t getting enough exercise each week.

Nick Marinos – U20’s Coach 2019 Season

Port Melbourne Sharks are pleased to announce the signing of Nick Marinos to the position of U20s coach.

As a player Nick has played in the Greek Super League for Panahaiki FC and also in the Greek 2nd division for Zakynthos FC. Nick also played at NSL level for Melbourne Knights and for South Melbourne in the NYL

With various top goal scorer awards in the VPL, Nick has also been a part of championship winning sides over his playing career in the VPL and in Greece.

As a coach Nick boasts an impressive coaching record with a high win ratio along with 3 championship teams.
Nick is looking forward to stepping up to the role of u20s coach and is looking forward to continued success and also cultivating our youth players in preparation for Senior Football.

Senior 2019 Signing – Kristian Bombaci

Port Melbourne Sharks are pleased to announce the signing of Kristian Bombaci for 2019. This young gun defender has loads of potential and has already demonstrated technical ability on the ball and a determination to not be beaten in defensive battles.

As a Junior at Heidelberg, Kristian played in 2 championship teams where he was also captain.

The last 2 years Kristian was part of Melbourne City NPL teams where he showed early maturity as a defender, and now at the Sharks we look forward to seeing him progress further.

Community Alliance – U12 & U13 Teams

Port Melbourne SC & Albert Park SC are proud to announce our Community Alliance.

This will be introduced for the upcoming 2019 season, commencing with U12 and U13 community teams.

Our collective aim is in creating an overflow of talented junior players.

Coaches will be able to improve these juniors at APSC with the eventual outcome being that they will be of an improved standard and hopefully be in contention for PMSC NPL the following season.

Senior 2019 Signing – Sam Ford

Sam Ford 2019 Signing

Port Melbourne Sharks are pleased to announce the signing of Sam Ford for 2019. At 20 years of age Sam will fill our second foreign visa position. This young highly talented striker was scouted and signed for his boyhood club Ipswich Town at just 15. He made his debut for the reserve team at 15. Just before turning 16 played his first game at the first team stadium against Tottenham Hotspur scoring 2 goals in a 2-2 draw.

The following season Sam was top goal scorer for the under 16s. Then Sam was offered a scholarship at 16.
Signing his first professional contract at 17 he transferred to West Ham United. Scoring a last minute winner on his u18s debut for West Ham. He also scored on his reserve team debut for West Ham. Subsequently winning the Premier League 2 Cup in his first season at West Ham. Sam was then part of a winning promotion via the play offs in the Premier league 2 in only his second season.

A player that surely will be exciting to watch in NPL VIC in 2019.
